What to Do in a Mental Health Crisis

If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis, it’s important to seek immediate help. Here are some resources you can turn to:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) for 24/7, free, and confidential support. Trained counselors are available to help you through your crisis and connect you with local resources.

  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741 to connect with a trained crisis counselor via text message, available 24/7. This service is confidential and can provide immediate support.

  • Trans Lifeline: Call 877-565-8860 for peer support phone services run by trans people for the trans community, as well as those who are questioning. This non-profit offers direct emotional support for trans people in crisis, connecting them to community support and resources.

  • Emergency Services: If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for urgent care.
